As kayaking is becoming an increasingly popular activity for the whole family, people are recognising the need for acquiring the basic skills in a safe, controlled environment.
Here at Sale Water Park, Trafford Water Sports Centre can provide a variety of environments for the novice to learn in relative comfort, the centre is a British Canoe Union approved centre and we are constantly striving to broaden the scope of paddling activities we can provide.
BCU Star Awards
The new Star award scheme was launched in September 2007 and has marked a significant change to how the scheme is to be delivered. The idea is to give new paddlers more choice in their paddling progression whether you want to paddle down rapids in kayaks, through heavy seas in sea kayaks or across serene lakes in a open boat the new 1 & 2 star awards develop generic skills which apply to all disciplines. At 3 star level you begin to specialise in the discipline you would prefer. The Star awards are aimed at the 16+ age range.
